Calculating the Allowable Loads

06/02/2010 5:16 AM

Dear All

I am in the process of stress analysis of fourth stage suction piping. I want to compare the loads, as the results of piping stress analysis, to the allowable loads of the nozzle.

How can I calculate the allowable loads on interstage nozzle?

Please Advise.

Allowable loads are usually given by the equipment vendor.

But you are probably somehow re-using an old machine.

Like most of the other posters here, I assume that this is the first time you have done this....Is this correct ?

Can we use the formulae of API 617 for the interstage nozzles alos as i understand that those formulae are used for first inlet and final discharge nozzles only.

Best Regards

hi,

I'm new in FRP piping, do you any reference with regards to this matter in thermal analysis?

any suggestion and comments is highly appreciated.
