Air Flow Rate in a Live SS Pipe

Dear All

i have to measure the flow rate of air in an existing SS piping of air which is live but it has a taping point of 1/2 " that can be opened without adverslely effecting the system the line itself is about 10" in dia . the pressure inside the line is about 1000 mmAq

This is one of many available meters. Ultrasonics come in lots of configurations for a wide range of applications. The usual product disclaimer applies.

Either put pitot tube through the small hole available and measure the velcocity profile to find the overall flow rate.

Or use clamp on type ultrasonic flowmeter on the pipe line to get the flow rate directly.

OP's medium in the pipe is air.

According to Krohne's spec sheet for the 6300, their clamp-on ultrasonic is useable only on liquids:
