Take the car to a mechanic.

I will give advice contrary to lynlynch:

Get rid of it.

(This advice compliments of CR4 member peterg7lyq, plagarized from one of the other 60 threads regarding troubles with this particular automobile)

An observation: If I google "cavalier wont start", I get about 89,100 results, and CR4 is number 2! This is probably why we get so many of these Cavalier questions.

There are many reasons for that check engine lite being on. Unless you have access to a code display tool or scan tool YOU ARE IN EFFECT FLYING BLIND. There are many things you can replace and not get even close to the problem. The best advice has been already given and that is to have someone with the required tools and knowledge to use them look at the vehicle for you. Even if you were to gain access to the code(s) now you need to be able to troubleshoot that system. Without that info you can keep throwing money at the problem and changing a lot of "not defective" parts and that not only can become expensive ,but also frustrating.
