Three Phase Motor Protection Circuit

A combination starter (or non-combo if you have OC protection within line of site of pump) with phase loss and phase reversal protection modules and an HOA on the cover should suffice.

Try SQ-D, Siemens, GE to name a few.

Power rated in kW, frequent loss of generation and reverse connection? Not likely that "Guest" is in the USA or Canada. The terms "combo starter, OC and HOA" are likely meaningless to him.

You need what is called a "Motor Protection Relay". These are usually electronic relays that you connect to your power circuit that will detect a phase loss, phase reversal, under voltage, over voltage and many other conditions that can damage your pump long before a basic inexpensive over load relay will act to take the controller off-line. Assuming, from my earlier points, that you are not in North America, you can probably find these from suppliers such as Siemens, ABB, Moeller, Sprecher - Schuh and other large mfrs. I would recommend staying clear of cheap ones from places like China and India, only because f they don't have a recognized good name that needs to be protected, you can end up with junk and also lose your motor.

Just to clarify... i live in India, and can vouch that we have excellent local manufacturers who make thermal overload relays with phase-loss sensitivity which will protect motors against single-phasing even at no load (no load current usually being 40% of FLA). Larsen and Toubro is one such company. Fully indigenous design, and the biggest seller here.

As you say,we also have Siemens in India for more than 100 years. Their relays here are the same as those sold in Germany. Not forgetting ABB (which i set up), Cutler-Hammer, Sprecher+Schuh ...

To be fair, we have many small guys who make pathetic products. Some people buy them, as PT Barnum siad....

However, many of the GE products were also designed here. i myself spent six months in ABB Heidelberg to improve their Thermal Overload relay.

An electronic relay for a 1.5kW standalone motor ? Don't you think it is overkill?

use undervoltage and phase reverse relay that is available in the market or approach the elevator (lift) maintanence company they can help you
