Can anybody gives detailed info about weld encroachment and the acceptance criteria.

I'm not sure "weld encroachment" is a technical term, but if someone asked me; how close can I come to an existing weld with a cutting torch. my reply would be, not so close as to compromise the integrity of the existing weld.

Suggestion:

Go to the "Search This Forum" on the right side of this screen and type in "Minimum distance between welds" and read ALL you find.

I think you will find some answers.
