I have a unimac washer that has a water fill value the will not stop putting water in the machine which cause it to shut down before the wash is done. Is there an easy fix?

If shutting down the power to the machine doesn't stop the water, you have a stuck open valve, or partially clogged with salt or sand.

If shutting down the power to the machine stops all water, then you most likelly have a fill level float switch not working, and as a safety feature your machine has a second float switch that kills everything.

Either way, you have to call a service guy.

Unless you have the tools, the skill and spare parts available.

Or you are a combination of a nerd, a geek and Mcgiver, and will repair the damaged part yourself.

If it is like the ones I've worked on you have 2 hot 2 cold valves and 2 vacuum breakers on top of the machine.( since you did not specify which model this is just general advice) Isolate the valves one at a time by turning off the stor valve. When you find the one, leave it off. Follow it to your valve. Unscrew toe top carefully after removing the solenoid. There dhould be a spring, needle type valvewith a rubber tip. Below that, prbably in water is the valve body, if you can remmve this. It is brass with two plastic rings. If any parts are damaged you will have to buy a repair kit, otherwise clean all parts and re-assemble.Good Luck.

Hello mean-onery

Could be what other posters have suggested, but I had this problem on a Hoover washing machine some years back. Full point is detected by a pressure switch, connected by a length of hose about 6mm bore to the bottom of the casing. The hose had got clogged with soap. Gave it a good clean and it never happened again.

Plenty of other things went wrong though, dreadful machine!

Cheers.........Codey
