Set Up Change in the Roll Forming Machine

06/20/2010 5:37 AM

I want to build a conveyor downstream of a roll forming machine for varying sizes of C channel. When the size i.e. height of the channel changes, there is set up change in the rolling machine. How the conveyor is to be adjusted to the changed size of the c channel.

Is it possible to link the conveyor to the component of the roll forming machine that is involved in the dimensional change?

No answer?

How about posting a sign: "YOU MUST BE THIS TALL (insert dimension)TO RIDE ON CONVEYOR"

I could write a 2,000 page plus book on this subject. You did not give enough info to even make any guesses. There is C channel for roofing, iron C channel (a hot rollling process), C-channel for studs, .different materials and thickness

Would it not further your concept to design the conveyor to accommodate all the channel sizes?

Make the conveyor as wide as the widest channel to be formed. It should then be able to handle the narrower channels just fine.

I assumed the OP meant the height (distance from floor) at which the finished part left the machine, assuming this height changes with dimension of product and the lower die roller

I guess I assume too much.
