Guest you really ought to register to assure that you stay connected.

GL 18 is a knuckle thread for glass bottles. Like the eye dropper caps used by pharmacies.

It is covered by DIN 168-1. ( not DIN 168 that is for safety glasses!)

Dimensions are given in this standard.

If our hosts here at Globalspec offer this, I wasn't able to find it.

You can purchase english translation for $111.25 here:

http://www.techstreet.com/cgi-bin/basket?action=add&item_id=3509645

Here is a chart that confirms the thread series, look for GL in the left most column.

Its also covered in this expensive book:

http://www.normas.com/DIN/PAGES/HDBK-45.html

Good Luck with your design.

Milo

Use the link to a list of all glass neck finishes. If you are interested in small volumes, 25,000-50,000-100,000 packages, you may want to consider a local distributor like Tricor/Braun. They will be able to assist you and assure proper fit and finish.

small volumes will not interest a glass or closure manufacture on a direct order basis.

The last post was mine. I forgot to login.

There is more to the functional package than just "liquid".

you need to be sure that the closure material is compatible with your "liquid". Do you need a liner in the closure? What kind of liner or sealing mechanism will work best with the product. Is it viscous? does it creep?

These are the reasons you may consider the distributor route if you are new to primary packaging.

I dont have an ax to grind today. In a prevoius life my family owned a packaging distrubutor, and I can recall the horror stories from people that "knew" what they needed.

Happy Hunting.

Good to meet you SCQ. Your post gives some additional sensemaking advice.

Looking forward to reading your contributions in the future.

Nothing like " Previous Life Experience" to provide helpful context:

h no, you did it just like I asked?<irony>
