Slow Start

What the term slow start in electrical studies? Anybody have an idea?

Seems like a pretty good description of my start to elecrical studies - slow - then again, I am a bit thick.

In electrical all are started by slowly (now it is past).
Motors, Metal halide and some other with slow start
I dont know whether you are with soft starter. Soft starters are used for starting AC Motors
