Inverter For Air Conditioning Application

07/01/2010 12:08 PM

Hello everybody. I need your help to install an DC/AC inverter in a locomotive, to power up a 24000 BTU A/C unit. If you have I could use a list of providers, and advice regarding the use of a modified sine wave inverter for this application. Is 6KVA enough? Is Modified Sine appropiate? FYI the input voltage in this locomotives is 74 VDC

Regards

This is a datasheet for EXACTLY the equipment you are asking about.

6 kVA for 24000 BTU is more than enough even for poor efficiency unit.
