New Battery Info

07/01/2010 7:32 PM

New to the website, so forgive my ignorance. I am looking for a website or sites that can give me info on new battery technologies and where they are going. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The following websites offer a good selection of technology and product development news (including battery and other energy storage devices).

http://www.gizmag.com/

http://www.batterypoweronline.com/

http://spectrum.ieee.org/

http://www.livescience.com/technology/

Perhaps also

http://www.physorg.com/

http://www.wired.com/

http://www.newscientist.com/section/tech

http://www.tinaja.com/whtnu10.asp

Gizmag is surprisingly good at keeping up with power technology developments as well as new products.

Welcome to the madness!

Although not a battery, you might also check out the ultra/super capacitors. One, "EESTOR" has made some pretty far out claims; but I haven't seen them come through on those claims yet.

The ultracapacitors are an interesting concept. I've started looking at the physics, or should I say quantum physics, behind it to understand more. Several of my colleagues have made me quite interested in next generation battery technology because it will be the next jump for other technology.
