Draw a stretchout of the part. Calculate from there.

Hello Muthu

It is obvious this is a homework question, so let us do this:

Have you calculated the area of the two straight legs? Do so.

Have you calculated the area of the side pans (the pie shaped pieces on the sides)? Go ahead and do so.

Have I forgotten anything? If I have, be certain to correct my omission.

Now, add the areas together. This is appropriate for a tight 900, with curved outside pan. If an extended 900 or a plain square 900, there is more figuring to do, but you should be able to go from here.

Reduce the problem to smaller parts, and it is easier to see and solve.

The group will probably scold me for helping this much. Good luck with your studies.

Calculate like two seperate rectangles width times length times height plus width times lingth times height. This would be your total area.

Hello mrclean. Welcome to the asylum.

In your post you said "...two seperate rectangles width times length times height plus width times lingth times height. This would be your total area."

Would that not give me the volume? Solution should be CM2, not CM3.

You are correct Doorman sorry, I had a brain fart. Trying to work and reply both at the same time doesn't always work.

Your mind may have been clouded by CR4 member DVader1000. He has been playing his Jedi mind tricks on us for a little while now.
