Regarding Smart Grids

07/08/2010 4:37 PM

Regarding smart grid technology,

Currently I have studied 66/11kv transmission system.

I want to know if there is any difference in ratings/specifications of the electrical equipments installed in the grid like lightening arrestors (60kv,800A/26.3kA for 3sec) circuit-breakers CT PT etc......

Secondly, in a smart grid system, is 61850 protocol being implemented??

yes, there is lots of difference when we compare 66kv/11kv grid with other rating grid, the different grid have different voltage rating, current rating so the size also differs, higher the rating of voltage bigger the size of equipment.
