Car Mileage, Should I Be Worried?

07/12/2010 5:54 AM

My car, is currently on 60000km's and I am intending to travel another 2500km in a period of 8days. Should I be worried that it will not last for longer years after accumulating so many km's?

It is a BMW 330i automatic model.Should I also be concerned that due to the automatic transmission it will mean I have to pay large sums of money replacing or repairing it after this trip?

Please advise

60000 km. is equal to about 30000 mi. which is considered just broken in for an American vehicle. I routinely drive mine for 200000 mi. or more before considering a replacement. I think you may be worrying about nothing here. Just keep up on your routine maintenance and you should be fine.

BMW IMO is a well built vehicle. If you have kept up on the required maintenance intervals suggested by the manufacturer and continue to do so, you should easily get 200,000km's out of this vehicle.

Just keep driving and servicing it until it either stops or makes strange noises.

there is no other way to really decide when to get rid of a car.

If it runs ok now, and is serviced it could theoretically run forever

The mileage is if its treated well not relevant

Thank you, I am now relieved that I can rely on the longer durability of this vehicle.
