JCIS Fasteners

02/28/2007 6:36 AM

Hi,

I am looking for a stocking distributor of small metric screws in the US or Canada.

M1.4 and M1.6 pan head Philips, JCIS-1 to JCIS-3 sizes.

Quantity is in the 100's.

Seems obvious at first, but quite hard to find in fact.

Thank you.

Hello,

The JCIS screws are very hard to find outside Japan.

In USA Maryland Metrics (http://www.mdmetric.com) has them but quantity starts from 2000+.

In Japan there some online screw shops selling JCIS screws, incidentally they don't sell outside Japan.

Use Google translator if you don't read Japanese.....

Some time ago I came across same problem and I've found a small Japanese trading company that for a small fee supplied the Wilco screws. They are very fast and I very pleased recommend.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. Our quantity is in the 5K range.

I did contact Maryland Metrics.

The actual products we are looking for are stainless steel:

JICS-2 or JCIS-3

M1.4x3 Pan Philips
M1.4x4 Pan Philips
M1.4x3 Flat Philips

Or

JICS-1

M1.6x3 Pan Philips
M1.6x4 Pan Philips
M1.6x3 Flat Philips

And the interesting Japanese manufacturers are:

www.matsumoto-screw.com
www.saima.co.jp
www.e-nedzi.com
www.nittoseiko.co.jp/j/
www.wilco.jp

Also, for pan head screws, I found an interesting optics-wear parts supplier:

http://www.hilco.com/default.asp

We are looking for self locking using a pre-applied compound or special threads like the Matsumoto products.

I never tough that it would be so difficult to replace 0-80 button head screws!

The parts you are after are small and can be airmailed.

Check out supplier in UK

Thank you, this is a very valuable thread... ;)

I tried screws used for eyewear, but it seems they do not quote dimms the same way as engineers do. The supplier is Hilco

Screw length is not the thread length, but the overall length including head height.

Head diameter is the diameter of the recess the screw would fit in.

So a 4mm screw with 2.5mm diameter head is actually a 3.1mm threads and 2.3 to 2.4mm diameter head.
