TO FIND %R & %X VALUE

07/20/2010 11:39 AM

Dear all,

I am doing the design of 220kV/66kV 100MVA substation.

short circuit MVA = 20000MVA

X/R Ratio = 34.1

short circuit current = 52.486kA

From the above i want to know how to calculate %Resistance(R) & %Reactance(X)

Kindly help me

Thanks & Regards,

LSK

Are you serious ? normally we find it from short circuit test of transformer. find impedance voltage it will be there in percentage on the TFR. Divide it with full load primary current to get primary impedance. With ratio we get secondary (1/34)^2 x Z01. Z=sqrt(R^2+X^2) Z01=Vsc/I1 W=I1^2 X R01 R01=W/I1^2 X01=sqrt(Z01^2-R01^2) -Hithu-

Please review your basics..

I don't know how they chose you design a substation yet alone you don't know the basics... please go back to your electrical circuit lessons you could apply it here.
