Nanowires and Brain Cells

Scientists have demonstrated a proof-of-principle experiment in which they first guide platinum nanowires into the vascular system of tissue samples, and then successfully use the wires to detect the activity of individual neurons lying adjacent to the blood vessels. Scientists hope that such methods could be used for studying individual brain cells. Wow.
