Interesting that the mice were genetically altered to lack the protein necessary to repair mitochondrial DNA. As many hard-core athletes know, it's important to monitor your daily protein intake after the age of 35 because your liver can only process so many grams of protein a day. Perhaps the liver's limitations have a role to play in aging, too.
