I am from eritrea graduated in mechanical engineering and now i want to further my study in renewable/sustainable energy thus would you recommend me any universities in europe and USA please?
I know that I have read Arizona State University has a sustainable engineering program, but I don't know if it is any better than the program at any other school. Try asking everybody's friend, GOOGLE. I look forward to reading the responses you get.
Good luck.

I would like to recommend a very good program in Oldenburg, Germany called PPRE (Post Graduate Program in Renewable Energies). This program is thought for people coming from all over the world and it is very international. I did it from 2008-2010 and actually meet a person from Eritrea there. For the court 2009-2011 there is also another person from Eritrea. In this program you get to learn from all renewable energies, not just your typical wind and solar energies. It is designed with many labs (practical work) that is done both in winter (inside labs) and summer (outside labs with even more hand on experience). Between semesters you have to do a 2 month practical training with an external company, which gives you a first glimpse of what you can find in the field you liked the most. It is a very very demanding course, where there is no real vacation time, but you get to learn a lot. They give scholarships with the help of DAAD, all you have to do is send your information, but I am not sure if there is time for a scholarship for this next batch (it starts in September 2010 and ends in March 2012). All the course is in english, so you wont have problems there, and there is a 2 month german course just before the class, where you can meet your new class mates and get to know the city, which is very safe and very nice!
I am from Venezuela actually, and I have to say it was a very good experience, something I would highly recommend.
For further information go to www.ppre.de, and I think you can answer all your questions there.
