P-T Rating

07/26/2010 4:51 AM

P-T rating can be determined by looking at ANSI B16.5 & ASME B16.34.

How one can decide which one has to follow & where.

Thanks

B16.5 is for flange rating (up to 24 inch size) & B16.34 is for valve rating

I Apologize, but my concern is that

For valves also, many times we take flange rating. Why?

Thanks

Let us take example of a flange cl#150. Now this flange has a perticular pressure rating at certain temperature. Now the the globe valve of #150 rating is designed such that it can wind stand same pressure as that of flange. Hence both ratings are identical.
