• The lift needed
• The intended flowrate
• The pipe routing
• The pipe diameter
• The daily volume requirements
• The available power supplies
• The weight of the pump
• The weight of the pump discharge piping that is to be suspending the pump in the well
• The method of connection together of the individual pipe pieces that are suspending the pump in the well, which may be a function of the weights above
• The method of connection of the pump discharge piping to the pump
• The method of inserting and removing the pump and its piping into the well

With this lot determined, one is then in a position to approach pump suppliers and see what might be available to select from.
