Temperature Transmitter

Hi,

Can anybody provide me clarification that why the Thermocuple temperature transmitter is preferred for high temperature measurement applications rather than using RTD temperatrue transmitter.

[Hint: it's got something to do with the temperature range of the thermocouple versus the temperature range of the RTD...]

The RTD are also used, but in applications where measurement is made beyond the measuring range of the RTD, Thermocouples are preferred. As it has got a wide measuring range say upto 3000 Deg C. While RTD can measure upto 850 Deg C.
