When was your monitor manufactured? Is it a victim of 'Capacitor Plague"?

Replacing the backlight will solve the problem 90 percent of the time. Otherwise the problem is the inverter (fancy name for power supply to the backlight).

The backlight may only last two or three years. Turn it off when not in use.

I replaced mine twice. Unfortunately, the second time (last night) the flicker problem did not go away with the new backlight.

Mine is a Viewsonic 17-inch.

You can buy the bulbs over the Internet.

Hi, All

I bought new monitor, which i though this might be the issue, but still flickering. i guess is the CPU problem cause is old as me?.
