UPS is Not Resetting

Dear sir

I have APC's 6KVA UPS is showing internal fault due to overload.Now I have removed the load ,but it is showing previous fault and now it is not giving output.Is any reset button inside the ups or what? May any one can help? What can I do?

the UPS batteries might have gone in dead discharge mode may take some to recharge and come again

if it has a bimetalic overload relay ( i dont think it will have it) even than it will take time to cool down and reset

Which model do you have? Looking at the APC site, many of the UPSs are fitted with serial interfaces - connecting to a PC may enable you to interrogate the unit for more advanced diagnostics.

A silly fault in the output relay did the same in one of ours. Jammed open due to a welded NC contact. i dare say this is not the case in your situation, still, throwing it in for what it is worth.

Try the manual if in doubt, there should be a section in there on simple problem solving.

check the main relay..it may be faulty or need relay cleaning.

Check the charger Unit of the UPS, if it has a fuse in it, remove and check the fuses for continuity. Normally these kind of faults are not displayed in the UPS.
