hate linear ball bearings

03/02/2007 10:49 PM

I am working on a project and want to avoid using ball bearings; grease, heavy shafting. I have seen some pretty cool looking linear plain bearings, and understand they will have a little more clearance, 2-to-1 with regards to forces, etc., but has anyone had any experience with igus's DryLin parts?

They should be OK for light to medium duty applications withing the limits of manufacturers recommendations.
