Wind Tunnel

08/07/2010 11:05 PM

Hi,

Can anyone help me ?

I want to make a wind tunnel with wind speed about 200 km/hr, small size only.

What should the rpm of the fan and what should the other specification required for this matter ?

Thank you,

stanyadji

I doubt there would be just any one answer for this. If the fan section is not much larger in cross-section than the test section, higher rpm will be required than for a larger fan area. I think you will need to calculate the pressure drops through the various parts of the tunnel and then select a fan (perhaps from catalog data) that meets the pressure/flow requirements. I wonder if any duct calculators would go to that high a velocity.
