Lowering Ash Content of Used Motor Oil

08/11/2010 11:54 AM

What would be the most cost-effectice way to lower the ash content of used motor oil beside distillation, filtration and centrifugation ? To be more precise, I am looking for chemicals treatments combined or not with adsorbants. Considering also the fact that it produces the least waste possible.

Any clue would be appreciate !

A company called "Iso Pur" makes a oil filtration/cleaning process which divides the oil into 2 streams and then electrically [?] charges each one with an opposite charge. then it recombines the 2 streams where all the charged particles loosely combine and then are filtered out with normal filters. http://www.isopurfluid.com/ not a chemical treatment as you originally sought out
