Motor Winding Heater

08/16/2010 3:41 AM

We are willing to buy Motor winding heater for 37 Kw 3 phase 400 V motor

So I wonder If anybody can answer me some questions:

1- Is there is any standard to follow regarding this subject?

2- What is Max Ampere Rating In (Amp) to the MWH?

3- Max Ampere Rating Out (Amp) from the MWH to the Motor?

Regards

What do you mean willing to buy?

Any totally enclosed motor even in casual service (not stored for long term) does not require heating.

If at all you have to arrange heating, connect the motor winding to a DC source about 15 minutes after switching off the motor.

Current to motor winding must not exceed the rated name plate value however more important factor is the steady state temperature limit for which you have to consider insulation class of motor and maintain the temperature to less than half the designated temperature value of that insulation class.

I am not ready to discuss ohm's law for the MWH rating, you should learn to do your homework.

Why would you want to heat the motor windings? The only reason - might be to keep them DRY during lengthy periods of shut down. This will maintain insulation in top condition . . . and would be important in humid climats - like India during the monsoon season. . . . Oleh
