kV and Intensity with X-Ray Unit

08/19/2010 5:34 AM

Using a 100kV x-ray unit set at 5Amps. What would the typical intensity in Sieverts be at 1 meter. If you have intensities at other settings that would also help.

The RadPro calculator comes up with about 92 Sv/hr.

[Note: I haven't used RadPro before for X-rays, but use it a lot for calculating gamma shielding, doserates etc. The RadPro results we got have been checked by qualified persons, and by measurement after construction, and are quite accurate.]

Not 5 amps, oh well. I would have been interested to hear about the potential applications for a half-megawatt Death Ray.
