after releasing the pressure slowly unscrew

confirm first you have released the presure in the line monitored by the gauge, as its faulty it may not tell you if all presure has gone

as a last precaution make sure your not in line with it as you remove it just in case

If the thingummywotsit under test is still under pressure, either knowingly or not-knowingly, isolate the gauge before taking it off.

NOTHING.

JUST DEPRESSURIZE THE LINE SLOWLY.

THEN REMOVE THE PRESSURE GUAGE.
