if air is forced to flow through a pipe, how will you relate the flow rate and pressure. does increase in flow rate always result in increase in pressure ?

See (or search) also: Darcy-Weisbach formula. Or fancier yet, Colebrook formula.

The pressure required to generate a given flow through a pipe is a function of the physical parameters of the pipe and the fluid (in your case air). The flow rate of the air is related to the square root of the pressure differential between the ends of the pipe.
