Wave Impact Gauges on Marine Structures

03/06/2007 7:38 AM

I am interested in wave gauges; that measure directly the impact of the wave on a concrete wall. Are there some commercial units for this purpose? Or is this type of measuring the wave impact feasible?

Thank you

I dont know what you are meaning. I guess you want to measure the strength of a wave impact wall? if so, you can use a press sensor settle on the concrete wall to measure the impact intensity. if you want to measure concrete hardness, you can use a rebounder to get the goal.

Thank you for your response, I want to measure the wave force that acts on a concrete wall. I have known that it shall be computed by measuring the wave and tide characteristics (H, T,...). But I want direct force or pressure measurements. If someone knows some pressure sensor systems that continuously take datas and compatible to bad weather and sea conditions, please inform me.

oh, its sea wave! originally I thought of sound wave. or impulse wave etc. AS the sea wave has very long wavelength. I suppose you lhave to prepare several sets to get their average value for your calculate. you can choice JYB9 which can measure 0--60Mpa. I dont know if it can be suitable? stailess stell sealed. There are different name for different country. the best way for you to ask for local sensor dealer. they will offer you best one. if you cant contact with them I can offer you detail. I have to declare Im not familiar with this sea measure.just give a little suggestion. then you can adopted by computer to give more value calculate. you can also contact B&K co. for complete instrument. they are dedicate to veberation and measuring in Danmark. I dont knowif they still wrk.
