New Lubricant for the Aerospace Industry?

Researchers from the University of Michigan have developed a new industrial lubricant that is a solution of soybean oil and supercritical carbon dioxide. The patent-pending technology is generating a buzz in the industry, particularly in the aerospace sector, which is currently trying to achieve high speed machining rates on titanium parts.

Hold off on the soybean futures for now. There is a fear that Hurricane Emily and some of the storms to follow will spread "soybean rust" to much of the US crop.

You need to register to see the article, however I am now worried about this soybean rust...
So it's going to carrode all our metal like acid rain?

Weird, I got to it through the news section on Google, but to view it any other way requires registration. Try this link from the USDA.
