Can acetone or propanol dissolve the plastic components of printed circuit board completely,so that metals can be recovered from it,if not is there any other solvent which can do so ?
well you say as if as if you are aware of every aspect of this
research.I had asked this if anyone had done this before under any
different conditions or with something else and if you are unwilling to
answer or preoccupied with any previous ideas then please don't give me
your advice.....
I recall a discussion a while back about someone trying do this using acid to dissolve all but the metals, but for some reason, I can't find the thread. It's not an easy process, and there are lots of "nasty" things to deal with; bromines, lead, arsenic, etc.
I saw a documentary once where somewhere in China these poor villagers were basically "burning" the boards to recover the metals, releasing all kinds of toxins to the air, not a good place to raise the kids! If you do try to do this, please be environmentally friendly.
