Re: Earth Electrode - Safe Filling Compound

The major constituent of all such "Back Filling Compound" or "Earth Enhancing Compound" or "Safe Filling Compound" or by whatever name you would like to call it by, is BENTONITE. Different manufacturers add different quantities of chemical additives.

In one of my previous projects, we have bought, broke open one "safe earth electrode" and analysed the 'so-called' Back Fill Compound. We found its characreristics of teh BFC to exacltly match that of Bentonite.

I had also written to many safe earth electrode manufacturers in India, requesting them to accept (or deny with facts) openly that the back fill compound is nothing but Bentonite.

Nobody replied or cared to reply.

These are "marketing gimmicks" by these Safe Earth Electrode manufacturers. You may save a lot by just buying Bentonite yourself and filling in your earth pit.
