What is relationship of Generator vector bounce and engine power factor?

I don't suppose you Googled this, I'd got some time to kill so I had a look. Just what a ball bouncing in 2D graphics has got to do with a generator I haven the foggiest of ideas.

As to engine power factor? Could it be something to do with advancing the ignition?
