Sure you can wire a motor in any configuration that you know, using any voltages available. It's your motor and electric bill. But if you wish the motor to last the manufacturer's expected lifetime, then you should refer to the manufacturer's documentation for your motor. If the motor's name plate doesn't provide a specific model and manufacturer identification, then you should investigate your system documentation. If this doesn't help then you will have to have an on site engineer evaluate your operation to reverse engineer the motor requirements.
