Eccentric Loading on Vessel

09/21/2010 12:32 AM

Dear all,

My query is as following:

If vessel is eccentrically loaded by pipe resting on top platform of vessel, should i go for only WRC analysis of clip of concerned platform or should i take effect of this eccentric load on foundation bolt also.

Please help.

Regards,

Although I don't have access to the details of your problem, my advice is that you perform an FEA analysis. You will be able to rely on the answer and you will be able to use it in the future for similar problems.

Both.

But usually the impact on the foundation will be negligible , assuming of course that your vessel is sufficiently large.
