DMO for Discussion

09/21/2010 8:04 AM

This is more for discussion really.

I've had my rants about DMO (Dependant Manual Operation) oil switches, etc. but at the end of it all I miss them. You knew you were taking your life in your hands every time you operated one, it was part of the fun to me in those days!

OK so I'm MAD!

Have any of you had experience of them?

At least in India, the DMO equipment went out when Independent Manual Operation became the de facto standard for all switchgear. As did oil switchgear too.

While there may be a case for slow-make due to reduction in contact bounce, breaking slowly is dangerous i feel.
