Magnet Strength

When the company lists this magnet with a PULL FORCE of 20.51 lbs., does this mean it will hold 20 lbs. of weight (steel) pieces?

I'd assume 'case 1' and 'case 2' are test cases described somewhere in the manufacturers data, unless they are different housings.

13 . Will a magnet with a 20 lb pull force lift a 20 lb object?

Because pull force values are tested under laboratory conditions, you probably won't achieve the same holding force under real world conditions. The effective pull force is reduced by uneven contact with the metal surface, pulling in a direction that is not perpendicular to the steel, attaching to metal that is thinner than ideal, surface coatings, and other factors.

You should've followed your own links!

I never realized there was a link to that. It just looked like similar print.

Thank YOU for opening the thing and sorting through it . I see that if the metal to metal is not touching 100% then there will be less than 20 lbs of holding power.

Thank you again.
