Transformer Varnish

Hi all

What type of chemical can be used to remove transformer varnish from a transformer ?

Lacquer thinner should do it. Acetone would work also, but it evaporates so fast, you end up loosing most of it to the atmosphere.

It is very hard and tough varnish-it is a transformer varnish not PCB varnish.
