In conveyor system we have encoders still it not taken in line, the same conv working through MM440 drive (siemens), i have no idea to take a encoder in line with drive.

so plz give me a idea for how to taken a encode in line.

Encoder details below

BRN - 5 to 24V, Wht- COMM, Shld - Earth, Grn - CH A &

Yel - CH B

Please hepl me.

The MM440 uses sensorless vector control - according to the manual, there is no need or provision for an encoder input.

What you have is a quadrature style encoder. This type of an encoder is also known as an incremental encoder. It will tell a processor each incremental step as the encoder moves. Typically this type of an encoder is used in a feedback approach for motion control. Naturally with this being a digital approach, you probably should do a Z transform of your transfer functions to prevent a runaway oscillating condition from closing your feedback system.

That's all the help I can offer from the information you've given. I do not know if you wish the conveyor system to operate at a fixed velocity or to move things on the conveyor to a fixed position.

The encoder input is an optional module so and the terminals are well marked so just wire it up according to the labels (assuming your drive has this module installed).

I am not entirely familier with this particular drive but in general, how a drive is setup for encoder feedback depends on what the application is. Speed control - setpoint parameters; pasition control P/PI/PID parameters.
