Primarily the on-board DG set is the powering source when the RTG is in operation however when stalled occasionally the sourcing is city elecricit supply or the power house at site or a portable DG, connection normally through power sockets installed in manholes speading along the runways.

For tack change the RTG is in operation with on-board DG running, wheels are turned 90 degrees mechanically.

Instead source of power to drives from D G on RTG , I have been working alternate as to supply power from shore side., i.e power from yard only.

This can be either through CRD or Bus rail. In CRD the time for clamping crd cable to shore source are additional than that are common for plugging/de pluging if required change the lane.

The track change also possible with mobile power trolley on which complete RTG can be parked and shifted to destination as required. This is similar one used in steel plant .

Thanks for answer and looking forward to detail on bus rail system or other solution .

Regards and thanks
