Olympian G25f1s Genset Overspeed Problem

10/02/2010 1:09 AM

I picked up two Olympian G25f1S gensets They where built in 1999 and have pc2001 controller boards and EIM Plus engine controller and an electronic governor. these are basically new never installed they have 6 hrs on them one runs perfect the other one I have had running and it ran fine. Went to start and run so I could service it out and all it will do is start and then shut off with a over speed fault. This is on propane. Any ideas where to look first.

My experience with the Olympian brand of generators has been somewhat unpleasant. I have found that the electronics (when operated continuously) have a life expectancy of about 6 months. There are also several variations in the electronics packages that have been offered with the Olympian brand- one needs considerably more information about the model number, where it was manufactured, etc., to do any troubleshooting...

you can check the connection of the speed sensor of the engine which will be in general

instslled in near of the fly wheel, also you can chek the over speed setting in the pc2001

controller

hoping good luck for you
