Installing RTD's Into Thermowells

10/05/2010 10:46 AM

Does anyone lubricate their 1/4 inch RTD's before puting them into the thermowells. I have had trouble with a few sticking in the past, and was looking for a solution.

Depends on where you work. What's allowed. At a pasta factory I worked at, I used food grade white lithium grease. Little dab'll do ya though.

There are also thermal mastics, which feature good thermal conductivity.
