You could run one of the transformer wires through the "donut" of a current relay, using the contacts to switch on your alarm.

GA, I think. Do you need any extra electronic parts to keep the relay from chattering?

i am not sure of the following so i am assuming :

'tree' digital ammeter - i assume you mean 'three' ?

10 mva - i assume you mean MVA ?

Anyhow ... depends on what is the O/C setting. You need to get a hooter or something else which acts a little below this current level. Assuming your O/C protection relay and CTs are correctly designed, you may overload the CTs if you try to use them for the alarm also. However, if the CTs are not fully burdened, you can use them for this.

Hi,

Ithink you have 3 ammeters for the three phases. anyhow you may have 3 overcurrent relays or one can be used for the three phases so go to the settings and select one settings for start or alarms and another settings for trip .the settings for alarm should be less than trip settings.

good luck

employ a power meter..one we are using is from the scneider electrics PM710...it has voltage and current inputs (for sensing and metering) and another jack for relay which would basically trigger your alarm...
