I am assuming this is the S&C Purewave DSTATCOM Distributed Static Compensator.

I don't know exactly, but I would guess it would depend on your specific site circumstances. If you can wait a few weeks I will be over at S&C in Chicago for factory acceptance testing and training on our new DSTATCOM, I will ask the question.

How's THAT for assistance!

For me to ask however, can you please provide more information on your specific generation and distribution system including what the DSTATCOM is connected to (is it for a wind farm or power quality correction for a large factory), load size and type, country and site (there are not that many DSTATCOM sites in the world) etc.

Alternatively (if this is with regard to a S&C DSTATCOM you have, or are looking at purchasing) you can ask S&C customer support directly (especially since the DSTATCOM comes with a fairly comprehensive service contract and technical support and helpline network).
