What is meant by "Do" on roof framing plans

"Do" on framing dwgs means "Ditto", like the other.

GA for Vince......straight to the point!

To the OP: "do" can be applied to floor framing plans, erection plans, piping plans, and architectural plans as well to name a few. Basically, it is used wherever there is duplication.

I think Vince is probably correct as well, and another GA vote.

I usually mark thus: ~ DO ~ (drawings are all capital letters)

As well,it is the same as the element DIRECTLY above, and can be 'stacked'.

Thanks for the GA, indeed, "Ditto" comes from the latin "Dictum" (a saying), meaning the same (as above or below).
