Docking in Windows

I camme across a program ''Dock'' for windows.

Searched on Google and could find an article on :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dock_(Mac_OS_X)

but it is about Mac.

What does this term means in Windows?

So it is an advanced shape of 'Quick Launch' & 'System Tray' in a way.

And some programs are using a 'Side-Bar'.
