It is possible to get five , ten or even hundreds of opinions from people on this forum. Some might sound good, most will far out and none of them will be valid and all of them could cost you "Big Time."
The only place to ask your question about Full Speed/No Load operation of your Turbine is the Manufacturer of the Turbine. If you do not follow their guidelines and procedures you run the risk of voiding the Manufacturers Warranty. And that would be very costly if something happens.
I strongly recommend that you Contact the Turbine maker on this, Now.
Thank you for highlighting the abbrevetiation. when you ask gas/steam turbine means you are asking just for the heck of it. Like everybody suggested, my suggestion too is, why do you not ask the manufacturer? unless, ofcourse you bought it 2nd hand?

I don't understand your anger. The question is relevant to anybody who might have to run a turbine.
The best answer I saw above (post #3) was to ask the manufacturer. They know the inside out of the system and should be able to answer properly. Depending on various temperature profile, lubrication, vibration dampening, and turbine / governor design, it might be OK or it might be destructive.
(Almost) Only the system designer can tell.

My anger is quite simple, if someone wants to ask a theoretical then they should say so. Not pose as someone with access to a turbine/generator set that they can play with as they wish.
There's a lot of equipment I'd love to put in my engineering "playground", I'd have a field day!
First thing on my list would be a museum piece, a 12 phase dual voltage mercury arc rectifier with the facilities to load it. Oh and I'd want the open slate ACB's to go with it.
